Zlata Filipovic’s Biography

Zlata Filipovic was born in Sarajevo on December 3, 1980. His parents are from Sarajevo and his Muslim grandparents and in his family there are Croatian and Serbian ancestors. With his diary the suffering of a people at war was known all over the world (2003). This book proposes a vision of the most terrible wars of the 20th century through the eyes of the children and adolescents who have lived and suffered them. Since the Holocaust, Vietnam, the Palestinian intifada or the Bosnian war, this volume gathers the emotional testimony of the most innocent victims of the wars. At the age of 14 in 1993, Zlata became, thanks to her diary, the most Famous from Bosnia-Herzegovina. Zlata was a refugee in Paris, at the end of 1993 with the help of the UN forces and the French authorities probably luxury thanks to the popularity obtained by her newspaper, Zlata said to continue writing in France, usually resides in Ireland, and from where he has become a living witness to the drama of a war that destroyed his city and his childhood.
