Anton Zaslavski ‘(born on September 2, 1989 in Russia now based in Kaiserslautern, Germany) better known by his stage name Zedd , is a musician, disc jockey and Russian-German producer, oriented to electro house and winner of a Grammy award. His sound is influenced by progressive house, complextro and dubstep. Ranked number 29 in the survey conducted in 2017 by the magazine DJ Magazine.

Zedd’s Biography

Anton grew up in a family of musicians, and started playing the piano at four years of age. After several years of learning to play the piano until he mastered it, he started playing drums, and also composed and produced several songs in his rock band Dioramic.

In 2008 he started to produce electronic music, with great success and some acclaim on the scene. In just a few months he reached a remarkable breakthrough and went on to win two Beatport remixing contests, in the “Armand Van Helden / Strictly Rhythm Remix Contest” and the “Fatboy Slim / Skint Remix Contest”! This allowed him to be required to remix for renowned artists such as Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas, P. Diddy, Skrillex and Swedish House Mafia included in the labels mau5trap, Interscope, Atlantic and EMI.

His first EP «The Anthem» entered the Top 20 of the Beatport charts. His Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites remix for Skrillex was released by the Mau5trap label, and reached fourth in Beatport.

The single “Dovregubben” ranked first on the Beatport charts in the electro house genre for four weeks. He also released several productions, such as “Shave It”, “Slam The Door” and “Shotgun” for the OWSLA record label and for Dim Mak Records he edited the single “Stars Come Out” along with their respective remixes.

In 2012, he signed with Interscope Records and released his first single under this label, “Spectrum”, with the voices of American singer Matthew Koma. This single received good reception in the United States, reaching the top of the Hot Dance Club Play and entering the Pop Songs of Billboard magazine.

He also worked as a producer on the single “I Do not Like You” by the Dutch singer Eva Simons, and also co-produced the song “Beauty and a Beat” with Max Martin for Justin’s third album Bieber, Believe, and was also invited as a support act on the DJ Skrillex tour ‘The Mothership Tour’ that spanned several countries in Latin America, including Mexico.

In October 2012, he released his debut album Clarity on the Interscope Records label. Includes the previous singles “Shave It” and “Spectrum” and highlights the collaboration in the album of artists like Ryan Tedder and Ellie Goulding.In 2013, the Clarity single, in which the English singer Foxes participates, won the first place in the Hot Dance Club Play, and achieved the number 8 in the Billboard Hot 100 and entered the top 30 of the UK hit list, being awarded in 2014 with the Grammy for the best dance recording.

Also in 2013, he produced the song “Heaven” for the Japanese singer Namie Amuro included in his album FEEL, and was invited to produce the song “Into the Lair” for the soundtrack of Shadowhunters: Ciudad de hueso , which was released on August 20, 2013. In September 2013, he released the single “Stay the Night” with the collaboration of the Paramore singer, Hayley Williams, which is part of the edition special from Clarity.

In 2013 she co-produced with Lady Gaga part of the songs that composed the fourth album of the American singer: ARTPOP, released on November 2013.

In 2014, he returns to be part of a soundtrack, this time for the film Divergent with the song “Find You” released by the record label Spinnin ‘Records, with the participation of Matthew Koma and Miriam Bryant. In that same year he collaborated with the American singer Ariana Grande in what would be the second single from the album My Everything by the singer, called “Break Free”.

In February 2015, he launched his collaboration with Selena Gomez, entitled «I Want You to Know». This was included in their second studio album, True Colors, released on May 18, 2015; becoming its most reproduced theme in the online music platform Spotify.
