Wilton Norman «Wilt» Chamberlain (Philadelphia, August 21, 1936-Los Angeles, October 12, 1999) was an American basketball player who played in Philadelphia / San Francisco Warriors, Philadelphia 76ers and Los Angeles Lakers.

Known as Wilt the Stilt (nickname he hated) or The Big Dipper, he is considered by most specialists to be the most dominant basketball player of all time. He was named most valuable player in the NBA four times, he was the best NBA quintet in seven seasons and the second in three, and was on the list of the 50 best players in the history of the NBA. His exploits prompted the authorities to change some rules of the game.

Chamberlain is the player with the most historical records in the NBA, with more than 70, many of them followed by records of himself. He is the only one to have scored 100 points in a single NBA game and to have averaged 40 or 50 points in a season. He also won 7 times the highest scorer title in the NBA, 11 maximum rebounder titles, 9 field goal percentage and even led in assists one season, being the only non-base to get it. Chamberlain is the only one in the history of the competition to average at least 30 points and 20 rebounds per game in a season, an achievement he achieved in seven consecutive seasons. He is also the only player to average at least 30 points and 20 rebounds per game throughout his career in the NBA.
