Vicente Amigo Girol (Guadalcanal (Sevilla), March 25, 1967) is a Spanish flamenco guitarist. Considered by the public as a virtuoso of this art, he is one of the most recognized “tocaores” of his generation.

Vicente Amigo Girol was born in Guadalcanal, province of Seville, but he grew up in Córdoba, where at the age of eight he was given his first Spanish guitar. His first teachers were “El Tomate” and “El Merengue”, later he became a student of Manolo Sanlúcar.

In 1988 he began his solo career performing at the National Festival of Cante de las Minas de la Unión, where he won the first prize in the guitar section. Afterwards, he won the International Competition of Extremadura. In May of 1989 he won one of the main national guitar awards, the Ramón Montoya Prize, of concert guitar in the XII National Flamenco Art Contest of Cordoba.

His first album De Mi Corazón al Aire in 1991, won the awards “Icaro” (Diario 16) and “El Ojo Crítico” (RNE).

In 1991 he performed at the International Festival “Legends of the Guitar” in Seville, where Bob Dylan, Keith Richards, Paco de Lucía, Phil Manzanera, Joe Cocker, Jack Bruce and Richard Thompson and Robert Cray among others also participated. < / p>

In this first stage he participated in the Festivals of Paris, Córdoba and Navarra, at the Barcelona International Festival, toured Japan, France, Italy and Portugal, and performed at the Bienal de Arte Flamenco de Sevilla.

He shared the stage with Stanley Jordan, at the Carrefour de la Guitare in Martinique; with João Bosco, in Córdoba; with Wagner Tiso and Milton Nascimento at the Heineken Concerts in Rio de Janeiro in 1993, and at the Amiens Festival, with John McLaughlin. In 1993 he shared the stage with Al Di Meola, Paco de Lucía and John Mclaughlin at the Lisbon Bullring, at the concert “Mestres Da Guitarra”.

He premiered in Russia (Festival of Kaluga) his symphonic work “Poet”, then he performed concerts in Moscow, Holland, France and other European countries.

In 2008, he continued his activity mainly outside of Spain and collaborated in the recording of the musical “A” by Nacho Cano, and on the Niña Pastori CD.

In May 2009 he published “Paseo de Gracia”, in which they collaborate: Alejandro Sanz, Enrique and Estrella Morente, Niña Pastori as well as their regular collaborators: Tino di Geraldo, Paquito González, Antonio Ramos “Maca” and Alexis Lefêvre .
