He played at the University of UCLA and was selected in the 14th place in the first round of the 2013 NBA Draft by the Utah Jazz, which he transferred to Minnesota that same night. He debuted in the NBA on November 1, 2013 in a match against Oklahoma City Thunder in which he played 6 minutes. He scored his first basket in an official match on November 6 in the match that ended in defeat against Golden State Warriors.
