Born in Washington DC, November 11, 1958, Scott Plank soon moved with his family to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, at the age of nine. His formative years were spent playing soccer, baseball, and acting in ‘The Children’s Theater’ (Teatro de los Niños). After high school, Scott moved on to the North Carolina School of the Performing Arts, where he specialized in double jazz and modern dance. When the famous Broadway choreographer, Michael Bennett, came to the city with the musical ‘A Chorus Line “and saw Scott dance, he offered her a role in the tourism company.
Scott soon headed to New York, part of the original Broadway cast of ‘Dream Girls’, later to become a member of the Actors Studio. In 1986, Scott moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in film, his first feature film “The In Crowd” already under his belt. Calling the attention of Sean Penn, Scott got the role of Mickey in the Westwood Playhouse production of “Hurlyburly”, written and directed by David Rabe, Scott then starred in an act written and directed by Sean Penn, entitled “The Kindness of Women “(The kindness of women).
Scott went on to work with notables such as Michael Mann, Oliver Reed, Rod Steiger, George Clooney, Renny Harlin, Angelina Jolie, Jon Voight, Sigourney Weaver and Patricia Arquette. Scott was cast in the CBS drama “Sons & Daughters” the show “America”, and had recurring roles in “Melrose Place” and “The Division” Scott was in the Disney movie “Holes”, where he played the villain “Trout Walker.” Died October 24, 2002 in a tragic car accident in Los Angeles, California, (USA) at the age of 43.
