Sally Eilers (December 11, 1908 – January 5, 1978) was an American film actress.
Her real name was Dorothea Sally Eilers , and she was born in New York. His mother was Jewish American, and his father was of Irish origin. Eilers made his film debut at 18 years of age in 1927, with the film The Red Mill, directed by Roscoe Arbuckle. After several minor roles, he found work with Mack Sennett, being one of the beauties in swimsuits in several of his shorts, along with Carole Lombard, who was a childhood friend of hers. In 1928 she was selected as one of the WAMPAS Baby Stars, an annual list of the most promising young actresses of the moment.
Eilers was a popular figure in the Hollywood of the early thirties, known for its joy and vivacity. His films were mainly comedies and criminal melodramas such as Quick Millions (1931), with Spencer Tracy and George Raft. However, at the end of the decade his popularity had waned, and his later performances were scarce. His last work was done in 1950.
She was married to filmmakers Hoot Gibson, Harry Joe Brown, and Hollingsworth Morse, and to Howard Barney. In his last years he had health problems, and died of an acute myocardial infarction in Woodland Hills (Los Angeles), California, at 69 years of age.
