Sabine Lisicki Short Bio

Sabine Katharina Lisicki (German: [zabɪnə lɪzɪki]) (Troisdorf, Germany, September 22, 1989) is a German professional tennis player. Throughout his career he has won four WTA titles in singles and four in doubles. He became a professional in 2006 and his promotion came in 2009, when he reached the quarterfinals of the Wimbledon Championship and won his first WTA title in Charleston by defeating Caroline Wozniacki in the final. In 2011 he won his second title in Birmingham and was semifinalist in singles at Wimbledon, where he also managed to be a finalist in doubles with Samantha Stosur. In this way she became the second woman in Wimbledon history to reach the semifinals with an invitation card. He won his third WTA tournament in Dallas two months later. In 2012, she managed to climb to the twelfth place in the WTA ranking and once again reached the quarterfinals of Wimbledon by beating world number one Maria Sharápova. That same year he represented Germany in the Olympic Games.

In 2013 he reached the Wimbledon Championship final after beating number one and defending champion Serena Williams and number four Agnieszka Radwańska on the way; in the final she was defeated by Marion Bartoli. In 2014 he won his fourth individual tournament in Hong Kong, as well as the Premier Mandatory tournament in Miami in doubles with Martina Hingis.

Lisicki is known for its powerful service; she was the second player with more aces in 2013 and sixth in 2014. She currently has the fastest service ever recorded in women’s tennis history (210.8KPH in the 2014 Stanford tournament against Ana Ivanovic). he retained the record for the most aces in a single game, with 27 aces during his second-round match against Belinda Bencic in the 2015 Birmingham tournament, until he was overtaken by Kristýna Plíšková at the 2016 Australian Open.
