Under the Warner Music label of his country he made his debut as a singer in 2003, with twenty-nine years already and under his real name. However, in 2003 it was changed to Avex rhythm zone stamp, taking the name of Ryohei .
Living a large part of his childhood in the United States, Ryohei lived long years influenced by various urban rhythms such as R & B and Hip-Hop music. Upon becoming an adult he gained an audition while working full time, being given the opportunity to study specialized singing in the R & B under Motown producers such as Kith John, a member of the Stevie Wonder band. After returning to Japan, one of the demo recordings he made in America came to the hands of some music producers, and they contacted him to start his career. Originally Ryohei studied at the Nanzan University business administration, but later she would leave that because of her real passion, which was music, and the dream of becoming a singer.
In November of 2002 he participated as vocalist of the song “Why Not?” of Fantastic Plastic Machine, and in June of 2003 he made his solo debut under Warner Music Japan, releasing his first single “Almost There” under his real name, Yamamoto Ryohei. In October of the same year he participated in the hit song “I miss you” together with melody. for m-flo, with whom he would later establish a close friendship. After making several collaborations with numerous artists such as Maki Nomiya, Heartsdales, Sunaga t Experience, GTS, hiro and Tomita Lab, finally their first studio album, “Take Over”, was released in October 2004. The album featured collaborations from other artists such as Taku Takahashi from m-flo, Fantastic Plastic Machine and COLDFEET.
After two years without releasing new music due to the end of his contract with Warner, in 2005 he was invited by m-flo to perform together with them at festivals such as “ROCK IN JAPAN ’05” and “a- nation ’05 “, and also within his tour where he accompanied them to the Nihon Budōkan and even to Korea.
Finally the year 2006 he signed a contract with Avex rhythm zone, and changing his stage name to only Ryohei released his single “onelove”, which had the collaboration of VERBAL from m-flo, a theme used in the Japanese drama ” Kami wa Saikoro wo Furanai “(God would not throw the dice). This work would become the most successful single of all his career so far, and marked the reinvention of Ryohei’s career from that moment. Already considered an important member of “Familia m-flo”, Ryohei has participated in numerous singles along with them and also participates constantly in his live performances. While on tour in Japan with his teammates, Ryohei finally released his first single, titled “the LIGHT”, on July 26 of that year, combining styles of R & B, Pop and electronics, and calling to this style “Under-Pop”. His first album in rhythm zone, titled “ReListen”, was released on February 2, 2007.
