Ryan Dusick Short Bio

Maroon 5 is an American pop and pop rock band. The group was formed originally between 1994 and 1995 as Kara’s Flowers while its members were in high school. Adam Levine, Jesse Carmichael, Mickey Madden and Ryan Dusick signed with A & M Records subsequently released an album, The Fourth World, in 1997. After an indifferent response to the album, the band separated from their record label and continued with their careers Academics at the university. In that same year, the band regrouped, added James Valentine to the group, and followed a new direction under the name of Maroon 5.

Maroon 5 signed with the Octone Records and recorded in 2002 their debut album, Songs About Jane, published in June of the same year. The first single from the album was “Harder to Breathe” (18), which helped boost the album to No. 6 on the Billboard 200 chart. The following singles were “This Love” (5) and “She Will Be Loved” (5), International successes that led to obtain the platinum record in 2004 and be cataloged the “unexpected success” of the millennium. In 2005, the group won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist. In the following years the band toured the world promoting their album and released two live albums: 1.22.03.Acoustic in 2004 and Live – Friday The 13th in 2005, recorded in Santa Bárbara, California. This last disc went on sale with a DVD of the concert and with it they won their second Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance of a Duet or Group with Vocal in 2006 for the song “This Love”. From Songs About Jane the singles were also released, “Sunday Morning” (31) and the less successful, “Must Get Out”.

In 2006, drummer Ryan Dusick officially left the band due to injuries to his wrists and was replaced by Matt Flynn. The band recorded their second studio album entitled It Will not Be Soon Before Long and was released in May 2007. This album reached number 1 on Billboard 200. The first single released from this album, “Makes Me Wonder”, became the first single of the band to occupy the number 1 spot on Billboard Hot 100. From this album were also released singles like, “Wake Up Call” (19), “Will not Go Home Without You” (48) , “If I Never See Your Face Again” (51) with Rihanna and “Goodnight, Goodnight”. In August 2010, Maroon 5 under the record label of A & M / Octone released their third studio album “Hands All Over” and was re-released in July 2011 including the international hit “Moves Like Jagger”, which took the place 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 list. The first single from this album was “Misery” (14), followed by “Give a Little More” and “Never Gonna Leave This Bed”. The band released their fourth studio album, Overexposed, in June 2012. The album reached number 2 on the Billboard 200. The 4 singles released from this album managed to successfully enter the Billboard Hot 100 ranking. Their first single, ” Payphone “with the rapper Wiz Khalifa occupied reached the position 2. Next,” One More Night “reached the number 1 (being his third single to reach the first place after” Makes Me Wonder “and” Moves like Jagger “). Later, his third single “Daylight” managed to occupy the seventh position in the ranking and his last single, Love Somebody reached the number 10 position. The band released their fifth studio album, entitled V (pronounced “Five”) which came out on the September 2, 2014 under the record label of Interscope Records and debuted at number 1 on Billboard 200. In this album returns the keyboardist Jesse Carmichael after his absence in Overexposed completing for the first time a formation of 6 members in the band with the entry of PJ Morton as keyboardist in Overexposed. His first single “Maps” was released on June 16, 2014 to promote the album. The album has the collaboration of Gwen Stefani in the song “My Heart Is Open.” From this album are also released their simple Animals and Sugar which ranked 3 and 2 respectively in the ranking of the Billboard.

Since its debut in 2002, the band has sold more than 27 million albums and 48 million singles worldwide. The band has also made musical collaborations in films like “The hunger games”, with the song “Come away to the water” along with Rozzi Crane and the movie “Begin again” (which has as main character the vocalist of Maroon 5, Adam Levine) with the song “Lost stars”, which is part of his last CD “V”.
