David Ryan Adams (born November 5, 1974, Jacksonville, North Carolina) is an American singer and songwriter of alternative country, pop and rock. Adams is a founding member of the Ryan Adams and The Cardinals and Whiskeytown groups that he left in 2000 and in 2009 to release his first solo album and continue with his solo project, Heartbreaker. The album was an immediate success and placed him on the front line of the musical scene of the moment, and since then, Adams has developed a prolific career, with thirteen discs published in the last twelve years, either alone or with which he has been his accompanying band intermittently, The Cardinals. Their latest album, Ashes and Fire, came to light on October 11, 2011 and reached number 7 on the Billboard 200 hit list.
Adams has served as producer for artists like Jesse Malin or Willie Nelson, and has collaborated with Counting Crows, Weezer, Norah Jones, America, Minnie Driver, Cowboy Junkies, Leona Naess, Toots & amp; The Maytals, Beth Orton and Krista Polvere. In September 2012 it was announced that Adams will produce the next album by the North American band Lemonheads.
Apart from his musical work, he has published two books of poems, Infinity Blues and Hello Sunshine, in which short stories are also included.
