Raúl Padilla Mendoza (Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, June 17, 1918-Mexico City, February 3, 1994), popularly known by the nickname of El Chato , was a Mexican actor, known for his participation in the programs of Chespirito, after the departure of Carlos Villagrán and Ramón Valdés, standing out to Jaimito El Cartero in El Chavo del Ocho, and to Raúl Morales in Los Caquitos .

At an early age, he began his acting career, being artistically educated for his integration into the theater company that his father, Juan B. He also worked for two years in the comedy program El mundo de Luis de Alba.

Throughout his career Padilla participated in more than 40 films.

Personal life

He married actress Lili Inclán, with whom he had two children: Raúl Padilla “Chóforo”, who would later follow in the footsteps of his parents, and Aurelia “Maye” Padilla, writer, teacher, stage director and production manager for plays and television. Raúl “Chato” Padilla also instilled in his son Raúl, though not so directly, the desire to be an actor, since, like his father Juan, he traveled and toured Mexico and also abroad with his family, performing alongside his wife in the stellar caravans. This influenced the childhood of his son Raúl “Chóforo”.

Death and legacy
