Radiohead is a British alternative rock band from Abingdon, England, formed in 1985. It consists of Thom Yorke (vocals, guitar, piano), Jonny Greenwood (solo guitar, keyboards, others instruments), Ed O’Brien (guitar, second voice), Colin Greenwood (bass, keyboards) and Phil Selway (drums, percussion).

Radiohead released its first single, “Creep”, in 1992. Although the song was initially a commercial failure, it became a worldwide success after the release of their debut album, Pablo Honey (1993). The popularity of Radiohead in the United Kingdom increased with their second album, The Bends (1995). The third, OK Computer (1997), with an expansive sound and themes such as alienation and globalization, gave them worldwide fame and has been acclaimed as a historical record of the 1990s and one of the best albums of all time.

Kid A (2000) and Amnesiac (2001) meant an evolution in their musical style, incorporating experimental electronic music, classical music of the 20th century, krautrock and jazz. Despite the initial split of fans and critics, Kid A was named best album of the decade by Rolling Stone, Pitchfork and The Times, the album Hail to the Thief (2003), a mix of rock and electronic music with inspired lyrics. In the war on terror, he was the last of the band with the record label EMI Radiohead independently launched his seventh album, In Rainbows (2007), which was put on sale in the form of a digital download by which users The eighth album, The King of Limbs (2011), was an exploration of rhythm and calmer textures.The ninth album, A Moon Shaped Pool (2016), is dominated by orchestral arrangements by Jonny Greenwood.

The band’s work has been recognized by critics in various music lists and soundings, and in 2005 they ranked No. 73 on Rolling Stone’s list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. [12] In 2010 they ranked 29th in the list of the 100 greatest artists of all time according to the VH1 channel and in 2011 they were placed in position number 3 of the list of the best British artists in history according to Paste Magazine, only surpassed by The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.
