Patrick Martin Stumph (born Evanston, Illinois, April 27, 1984), professionally known as Patrick Vaughn Stump , is a singer, songwriter, musician, producer American actor and musical critic, best known for being the vocalist, guitarist, pianist and composer of Fall Out Boy, a US pop punk band from Wilmette, Illinois. During the indefinite recess of the group, Stump embarked on a solo career.

He has been credited for being a soul singer suitable for the R & B, as well as one of the best pop punk voices, according to Billboard. With Fall Out Boy he had singles in the top ten in the Billboard Hot 100 and his albums Infinity on High, Save Rock and Roll and American Beauty / American Psycho reached number one on the Billboard 200 list. The band has toured extensively, having given over 1300 shows since its inception in 2001. Stump has collaborated with an extensive list of artists and has produced albums for other artists, including Cobra Starship and Gym Class Heroes.

After the indefinite recess of Fall Out Boy in late 2009, he released his six-song debut EP entitled Truant Wave on February 22, 2011. Stump released his solo debut album, Soul Punk on October 18, 2011; in which he wrote all the songs, he played all the instruments, produced it and was also self-supported. It served as an outlet for the music he could not do with Fall Out Boy. A remix of the song “This City” was published as the first single of the material in iTunes. His influence by Michael Jackson and Prince, among many other artists is evident through his soulful electronic sound. To promote the material he toured in the United States and also in Europe, he also opened shows of Panic! at the Disco for a few months.

On February 4, 2013 Fall Out Boy announced his return with the single “My Songs Know What You Did In the Dark (Light Em Up)”, from the album Save Rock and Roll, and a subsequent tour. EP PAX AM Days was released later on October 15, 2013. Stump’s voice on the sixth album American Beauty / American Psycho was highly praised.
