Olive Deering ( Olive Corn : New York, October 11, 1918 – ibid., March 22, 1986) was a working American actress since the end of the 40s until the mid-60s.

Olive_Deering’s Biography

Born in New York, her real name was Olive Corn, and she was the sister of actor Alfred Ryder.

Her first theatrical performance was a small role in Girls in Uniform (1933). In addition, he worked on the work of Moss Hart Winged Victory, on Richard II (starring Maurice Evans), on Counselor-at-Law (with Paul Muni), and on Suddenly, Last Summer, the work of Tennessee Williams represented at Los Angels and that gave him great prestige. Other productions in which he participated were No for an Answer, Ceremony of Innocence, Marathon ’33, The Young Elizabeth, They Walk Alone and Garden District.

In the film medium he starred in several films, including Shock Treatment, Caged, and the film by Cecil B. DeMille Samson and Delilah, in the role of Miriam, a character he picked up in another DeMille production, The Ten Commandments.

Deering also worked on multiple radio programs, including True Story and Against the Storm, and starred in more than 200 television programs, highlighting his role as Desdemona in the production of The Octopus by The Philco Television Playhouse. One of his last television appearances was what he did in the episode of The Alfred Hitchcock Hour entitled “One of the Family”.

Divorced from actor and director Leo Penn, Olive Deering died of cancer in 1986 in New York. He was 67 years old. She was buried in the Kensico Cemetery, in Valhalla (New York).
