Nacho Cano was born in Madrid on February 26, 1963. At the age of five, he began to receive private Spanish guitar lessons with his brother José and his sister Mery to replace his father, who was never able to attend because of his work. His fascination with music, makes his parents give him a Philips equipment that both his brother and he would wear every afternoon listening to records bought in department stores, and imported from other countries, since at that time was limited supply in Spain .

He formed his first rock group, called Prisma when he was only twelve years old, and he did it together with Eduardo Benavente (maximum exponent of what we know as “(Movida Madrileña”), and Toti Árboles, both died in 1983 and 1992 respectively, although it was again with his brother José and his friend Ana Torroja, with whom he shapes Mecano and composes seventeen one of the most emblematic pop songs in Spanish: Today I can not get up. This theme, included in the first record of Mecano pulverizes all the sales records reached until then in Spain, and sold more than 500,000 copies in just a few months, thus starring the most decisive cultural moment in the establishment of democracy in Spain. Nacho Cano’s talent and freshness at the time of composing, makes him be requested by several multinationals of the sector to give birth to successes and births of other groups that thanks to him also became the most leading: The Union , Olé Olé, Magenta, Álex & amp; Christina, etc., and at the same time compose the music of major advertising campaigns for television, such as the cuponazo (ONCE) and La Moda de España, as well as synths that serve as billboards to several television programs, facts that make them equally deserving of several awards.

With their group (Mecano) record after album, they are getting the most unpredictable, and all figures are surpassing year after year, and in an unstoppable career opening markets in Latin America, USA Latin, and several No. 1 in European countries, they become the pop-rock group in Spanish, the most important of all time. In fact in the European specialized press defines them as the most important group emerged from non-English since the disappearance of ABBA. In this fruitful way, Nacho discovers the protagonist of the clip of one of his most successful songs, the actress Penélope Cruz, with whom he subsequently paired up for six years.

In 1992 and after the hangover of an overwhelming success, she travels to New York with Penelope Cruz and writes her first instrumental work: A world separated by the same God, while she takes her first steps in Hollywood. Two years later he moved to Amsterdam (Holland), to finish in London (England) where he lived until 2002, when he decided to return to Spain.

During this time, and influenced by Mother Teresa of Calcutta, she created the Sabera Foundation in Calcutta, with only one mission: To help the poorest. Penelope, helps him raise funds and together they make this charity grow at great speed, with which Nacho decides after three years to deliver the foundation to the protectorate of foundations in Spain.

With 4 conceptual discs on the market and all of them worthy of the album of Oro, in 2002 he composes the music that will represent the 2012 Madrid Olympic bid, it is also used for the 2016 bid, reaching the final with Brazil.

Nacho composed in 2004 the official music of the wedding of the Prince of Asturias, His Royal Highness: Don Felipe de Borbón. It is done after being commissioned by the City of Madrid, as a gift to this historical link.

In 2009, without involving the return of the group, he gets back into the recording studio with José and Ana to record the song María Luz. The song was published within the Siglo XXI compilation.

This work is followed by “A”, a new musical that has been released in Madrid and Barcelona with great success. The message, staging, music and aerial choreography break the molds of everything that had been done previously in Spain, staying a year and a half in theaters. During the spring of 2010 he composed in his studio in Ibiza the opening music for the European Athletics Championships held in Barcelona. This opening works with the aerial choreographer Hansell Cereza (La Fura dels Baus).

Among other plans he prepares a hymn for the Brotherhood of the Virgin of the Macarena in Miami where he was recently named Lieutenant Brother of the Brotherhood, honoring his name Ignacio de la Macarena.
