Currently the owner of the NBA team the Charlotte Hornets, he is considered by most amateurs and specialists as the best basketball player of all time.He retired definitively in 2003 in the Washington Wizards, after having done it in two previous occasions, in 1993 and 1999, after having played 13 seasons in the Chicago Bulls.

He won six rings with the Chicago Bulls, averaging 30.1 points per game throughout his career, the highest average in league history. He also won 10 top scorer titles, 5 MVP of the season, 6 Finals MVP, being named in the best NBA quintet ten times, defensive nine times, leader in steals for three years and a prize the best defender of the season.

Since 1983, he has appeared on the cover of the prestigious Sports Illustrated magazine on 50 occasions, a record, as well as being named “Sportsman of the Year” in 1991. He was named “best athlete of the 20th century” by ESPN and second after Babe Ruth by Associated Press.
