Matthew White , born on February 22, 1974 in Sydney, is an Australian retired cyclist turned sports director.
Matthew White made his debut in cycling at the age of 14. It happened to professionals with 22 years in 1996 with the Giant-Australian Institute of Sport team. After two seasons, he signed for the Italian teams Amore & amp; Vita and later by Vini Caldirola.
From 2001 to 2003, White ran for the American US Postal lineup. He was never selected to help Lance Armstrong win the Tour de France during that period. However, he helped Roberto Heras to get the Vuelta a España 2003.
In 2004, Matthew White signed for the Cofidis team, where his compatriot Stuart O’Grady was running. He was selected for the 2004 Tour de France, however he had to leave before the start due to a broken clavicle as a result of a fall while recognizing the route, and in 2005 he participated in his first and only Tour de France. / p>
In between, he trains his wife Jane Saville for the Athens 2004 Olympic Games where he is a bronze medalist in a 20-kilometer march.
After returning to the team of Johan Bruyneel in 2006 with the Discovery Channel team, he ended his career in 2007.
In 2008, he joins the sports management of the Slipstream Chipotle team of Jonathan Vaughters. In January 2010, he gets the title that allows him to be a sports director.
