Marion Lorne McDougall (August 12, 1883, West Pittson, Pennsylvania, United States – May 9, 1968, New York, United States). Actress, daughter of British immigrants, remembered for her role as Aunt Clara in the sitcom of the 60s Bewitched.

Always dreamed of being an actress. He studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, which also attended Agnes Moorehead in the 20s and Elizabeth Montgomery in the 50. In 1905 he entered Broadway, where he made several occasional appearances; then he married writer and screenwriter Walter C. Hackett (the exact date of this wedding is unknown). Marion participated in many of her husband’s works, and together they founded the Whitehall theater in the city of London, where they lived.

After the death of her husband, on January 20, 1944, Lorne returned to the United States and continued her work on the screen. In 1964 he joined the cast of Hechizada, where he played the part of Aunt Clara, an older, amusing witch, who sometimes caused disasters because he could not remember or do spells correctly. Her setmates liked her a lot and her character is also very loved and remembered.

Awards

Marion Lorne won an Emmy for her performance in Bewitched; He died of a heart attack in May 1968, a few months before the award ceremony. At the ceremony, Elizabeth Montgomery received the award on her behalf. She was buried in Ferncliff Cemetery, in Hartsdale, New York.
