Marie Wilson (August 19, 1916-23 November 1972) was an American radio, television and film actress.
Her real name was Katherine Elisabeth Wilson , and she was born in Anaheim, California. She began her career in the show in New York as a dancer on Broadway. He achieved national fame with My Friend Irma, who motivated a radio program, a television series and two movies in the cinema, and which resulted in a career based on the character of the silly blonde, acting in numerous comedies and working on the famous ” Blackouts “Hollywood by Ken Murray. During World War II, Wilson was one of the volunteer actresses at the Hollywood Canteen. She was a popular pin-up girl of the time thanks to her excellent figure. His performance in “Satan Met Lady”, the second film adaptation of the novel “The Maltese Falcon”, was a virtual template for the subsequent image of Marilyn Monroe.
Wilson starred in more than forty films, and was a guest on The Ed Sullivan Show four times, as well as a television interpreter during the 1960s, working until the time of her death, due to cancer, in 1972, with 56 years of age. She was buried in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills.
Wilson’s talent was recognized with three stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame: one for his contribution to the radio at 6301 Hollywood Boulevard, another for his television work at 6765 Hollywood Blvd., and the last for his cinematographic activity in 6601 of the same route.
Wilson was married four times: with Nick Grinde (dates are unknown), with Bob Stevens (1938-1939), with Allan Nixon (1942-1950) and with Robert Fallon (1951-1972). < / p>
