She is the daughter of composer António Vitorino de Almeida and Maria Armanda de Saint-Maurice Ferreira Esteves, sister of Inês de Medeiros, also actress and granddaughter of the young writer Odette de Saint-Maurice and pediatrician Constantino Ferreira Esteves. He spent his childhood in Austria, returning to Portugal after April 25, 1974 (Revolution of the Carnations). He studied at Liceu Francês Charles Lepierre in Lisbon and later settled in Paris.
