Marcelo Hugo Tinelli (Bolívar, province of Buenos Aires, April 1, 1960) is a presenter, businessman, sports journalist, sports leader and Argentine producer. He is currently vice president of the San Lorenzo de Almagro Athletic Club. He was third vice president of the Argentine Football Association, secretary of national teams and candidate for president of that entity.
Tinelli is a presenter of Showmatch (ex Videomatch), one of the most successful programs on Argentine television since its premiere in 1989, with 28 years of high audience numbers. He is also one of the main producers of eltrece, with products from his former producer, Ideas del Sur, of which he is a founder.
Marcelo Tinelli’s Biography
Tinelli was born in the city of San Carlos de Bolívar, Province of Buenos Aires. He is the son of María Esther Domeño and Dino Hugo Tinelli – also a journalist, who died in 1971 – and grandson of José Domeño, who owned two newspapers and was forced to work as a child, so he worked as an ice cream vendor and shoes to help his family with his lack of money after the death of his father.
He moved to the City of Buenos Aires and studied at the Manuel Belgrano school. He was a soccer player in the lower divisions of the Defensores de Belgrano and San Telmo clubs. According to himself, he spent his afternoons listening to a well-known radio program called La Oral Deportivo, which was broadcasted and still broadcasted on Radio Rivadavia in Buenos Aires, where he began working as a cadet during his youth.
