The album included live songs recorded in Solana Beach (California). In January 2009, the group began a nine-concert tour supporting Willie Nelson, with five stops at the Fillmore in San Francisco, and supporting BB King for two weeks, with concerts between Colorado and Nebraska. \n In April 2009, they released their first studio EP, entitled Brando's Paradise Sessions. His brother Micah designed the cover of the album and drawings for the stage. Shortly after, bassist Merlyn Kelly left the group to undertake other activities and was temporarily replaced by John Avila, before finding Corey McCormick. In December 2010, they released the LP Promise of the Real, recorded at the Pedernales Studios in Austin, Texas, in March.
