Kim Hee Chul (Hangul: 김희철, & nbsp; hanja: 金 希 澈?; Hoengseong, July 10, 1983), better known by its mononymous name Heechul (Hangul) : 희철)? is a member of the South Korean band Super Junior and its sub unit Super Junior-T. He has participated in the composition and lyrics of several songs of the group and other artists. He is one of the most famous Korean artists in Asia, achieving prominence in social networks worldwide. On October 11, 2010, “Kim Heechul” was the most talked about topic on Twitter, becoming trending topic worldwide and maintaining its position more than 24 hours.

On September 1, 2011, Heechul enlisted in mandatory military service, was a public servant for 23 months after spending four weeks in basic training at the Nonsan military camp in Chungcheongnam-do province, returning from his service on August 30, 2013.

Early life and Pre-debut

Heechul was born on July 10, 1983. He has an older sister named Kim Heejin. He attended Sangji University and graduated in 2008. Heechul said he left his home early to work before entering SM Entertainment. He revealed that one of the jobs he had when he was younger was as a lifeguard and as a construction worker.

Kim Heechul was discovered in the “Starlight Casting System” in October 2002, where he auditioned with some friends. Initially, he was placed in a four-member project group called “Four Seasons.” This group included JaeJoong, Yunho and Kangin. They never debuted and then Jaejoong and Yunho formed the TVXQ band that debuted in December 2003. Heechul and Kangin, along with ten other guys formed the Super Junior 05 group, forming the first generation of a group that would have a rotating system.

Other activities before his debut included modeling, acting and VJing. He made his first appearance on TV as a leading actor in the youth drama, Banolim 2. Like his bandmate, Kibum, he made his first appearance on television before debuting in Super Junior. He starred in the 2005 youth drama, “Sharp 2,” along with Kibum. Not long after, he appeared in an episode of “Loveholic” as an aspiring chef. He was a regular MC of the show Show! Music Tank.

2005-2006: Debut with Super Junior

Kim Heechul officially debuted as part of a 12-member project group called Super Junior 05 on November 6, 2005 on the SBS Inkigayo show, with her first single, Twins. Knock Out) . The debut album SuperJunior05 (Twins) was released a month later on December 5, 2005 and debuted at # 3 of the monthly MIAK ranking.

In March 2006, SM Entertainment began recruiting new members for the next generation of Super Junior. 2007-2008: Sub groups and role of animator

In 2007, Kim Heechul became part of Super Junior’s Super Junior unit, Super Junior-T, which debuted on February 23 with Trot’s single, Rokkugo. Heechul participated in the second Super Junior album, Do not Don, the first tour of the band and filmed the first Super Junior movie, Attack on the Pin-Up Boys.

He temporarily replaced Shinhwa’s Andy on the SBS Inkigayo program and then became a permanent animator with Ku Hye Sun from April 23, 2006 until February 18, 2007, and with Jang Keun-suk. from February 25 to October 7, 2007. Then with Ji-hyo from November 11, 2007 until May 4, 2008. Heechul was on a television show called “Good Daddy”, where he along with other celebrities including Lee HongKi of FT Island, they learned how to be good parents by taking care of their “daughter”. 2009-2010: Youngstreet and social networks

Kim Heechul was the co-host of “Dream Concert 2009” with Song Ji-hyo, which took place at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on October 10, and the co-host of “Dream Concert 2010” next to Taecyeon from 2PM the following year. He was also co-animator of other festivals during those years as MBC Gayo Daejun, among others.

2011-Present: M & D, military service and SungDong radio

Heechul formed a project group called M &with his agency partner, Kim Jungmo of TRAX in 2011. M &means “Midnight and Dawn” (in English) and the home cities of the two members, “Miari and Dangae-dong. ” The music video for their debut song, “Close Ur Mouth” was directed by Heechul and aired on June 23, 2011. Heechul wrote the lyrics while Jungmo composed and played all the instruments for the song. His debut presentation was at Mnet’s summer award, 20’s Choice, on July 7, 2011.

He was one of the 4 animators in the Golden Fishery / Radio Star segment of the MBC channel and once he was enlisted, his bandmate, Kyuhyun took his place. He was also on the Secret Saturday Saturday program on KBS.

On September 1, 2011, Heechul enlisted for his mandatory military service as a public servant for 23 months after spending four weeks in basic training at the Nonsan military camp in Chungcheongnam-do province. On September 27, the single “Breakups are So Like Me” by Kim Jang-hoon was released with Heechul, who also appears in the music video. His live parts were covered by his bandmates Yesung, Eunhyuk and Shindong who sang along with Kim Jang Hoon.

Since the beginning of 2012 he has been DJ again, this time for the SungDong district radio where he works as a public servant.
