He led the PGA Tour's earnings list in 1952, after winning the United States Open and the World Championship of Golf, and in 1955, once again winning the World Championship of Golf. In 1963 he won three victories at Colonial, Warwick Hills and the US Open, for which he was named PGA Player of the Year, and again in 1967 at Phoenix and Rio Pinar. \nIn parallel, Boros competed with the American team in the Ryder Cup of 1959, 1963, 1965 and 1967, getting 11 points in 16 games, and in the 1968 World Cup, where he was second along with Lee Trevino. \n By winning the 1968 PGA Championship, he broke the record for the oldest player to win in a major tournament at 48 years. After turning 50, he won the 1971 and 1977 Veterans PGA Championship and the 1979 Legends of Golf with Roberto de Vicenzo.
