Judith Marjorie Collins (May 1, 1939) is an American singer known for her eclectic tastes in recording material (folk, show songs, gospel, rock and roll and standards) .
His debut album A maid of Constant Sorrow was released in 1961, but it was his version of Joni Mitchell’s song “Both Sides, Now”, the single from his 1967 album Wildflowers, which gave Collins prominence International and earned him his first Grammy as Best Folk Performance.He enjoyed other successes at that time with his versions of “Someday Soon”, “Chelsea Morning”, “Amazing Grace” and “Cook with Honey”.
Collins experienced the biggest success of her career with her version of Stephen Sondheim’s “Send in the Clowns” from her 1975 best-selling album, Judith. The single topped the Billboard list in 1975 and again in 1977, being 27 non-consecutive weeks on the list and earning Collins a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Vocal Performance, Female, as well as a Grammy Award for Sondheim as Song of the Year. .
