Taylor Hanson is the second son of Clarke Walker Hanson (born June 1, 1954) and Diana Frances Hanson (born April 30, 1954). He has an older brother, Isaac (37 years old) and several younger siblings: Zachary (32 years old), Jessica (29 years old), Avery (27 years old), Mackenzie (24 years old) and Zoe (19 years old). .
From the beginning Walker and Diana chose not to take their children to school, but to educate them at home, because they thought it was best for the children.
In 1990 the work of Walker Hanson forces the whole family to live in Caripito and Punto Fijo (Venezuela), then in Ecuador and later in Trinidad and Tobago. It is then when Isaac and Taylor begin to listen to the old vinyls of their parents. They spent the afternoons listening to Rock ‘n Roll legends like Otis Redding, Chuck Berry, Bobby Darin, The Beach Boys or Aretha Franklin.
After returning in 1991 to his native Tulsa, Taylor decides to set up a musical group with his brothers Zac and Isaac. Initially they adopt the name of The Hanson to change it later by The Hanson Brothers. Soon the people of Tulsa begin to refer to the group, by mistake, as The Handsome Brothers and decide to change it for Hanson, a name they have maintained until today.
Taylor began singing a capella together with his brothers at his father’s company parties and family reunions. In the month of May of 1992, Hanson performed for the first time at the Tulsa Annual Arts Festival , known as Mayfest . Each year Hanson’s annual performance at that festival is attracting more and more people until in 1996 Christopher Sabec, future manager of the band, looks at Hanson and decides to sign a contract with them.
On May 6, 1997 Hanson released their first studio album, Middle of Nowhere, under the label Mercury Records. Her first single, MMMBop, becomes number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 list.
Soon the three brothers become the idols of millions of teenagers, with Taylor being the one who awakens the most passions.
During the summer of 1997, Taylor embarks on a tour to promote his album Middle of Nowhere, during which a documentary is recorded that later goes on sale under the name of Tulsa, Tokyo & amp; The Middle of Nowhere.
