Jonathan Richard Guy Greenwood , better known as Jonny Greenwood (born November 5, 1971), is a virtuoso English multi-instrumentalist and composer, known for to be a member of the alternative rock band Radiohead, as well as a musician and composer of contemporary classical music and experimental music in his solo work. His main role in Radiohead is that of solo guitar and keyboard player, although he also plays the viola, the harmonica, the glockenspiel, the Martenot waves, the banjo or the percussion. In 2011 Rolling Stone ranked him 48th on the list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.
He has composed the soundtrack for the films Bodysong (2003), There Will Be Blood (2007), Norwegian Wood (2010), We have to talk about Kevin (2011), The Master (2012), Inherent Vice (2014) , The invisible thread (2017), for which he was nominated for the Golden Globe, and You Were Never Really Here (2017). He was also resident composer of the BBC Concert Orchestra. He is the brother of the also member of Radiohead, Colin Greenwood, bassist of the group.
