James B. Rogers, Jr. , also known as James Beeland Rogers or Jim Rogers , was born on October 19, 1942 in Baltimore, Maryland, United States, and is a unique American investor as well as a financial commentator. He co-founded, along with George Soros, the Quantum Fund, and is also a professor at an American college, as well as a writer, and creator of an index on generic products (commodities) known as the Rogers International Commodity Index (RICI).
Rogers is based in Singapore, and is the Chairman of ‘Rogers Holdings and Beeland Interests, Inc.’.
Rogers does not consider himself to be a strict follower of a particular economic school, although he recognizes that his views are better suited to those of the so-called Austrian School of Economics.
