Although of Puerto Rican descent, Jeff Scott Soto was born in Brooklyn, New York, on November 4, 1965.

In the early ’80s he began his musical career participating in several underground bands, and in 1984 he took the definitive step of his career entering as a singer in the first solo album by Swedish guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen; although he only recorded two songs, because the rest was instrumental. In 1985 he recorded a second album, Marching Out, entirely sung, and after a tour he left the project (later he would collaborate again with Yngwie Malmsteen on a tour and singing some versions for the album Inspiration).

From this moment and up to the present, the career of Jeff Scott Soto has been marked by his continuous musical pilgrimage, both in a multitude of bands like Eyes and Takara and also as a session musician. Among all the projects in which he has been, Axel Rudi Pell, with whom he worked for five years as vocalist, Talisman, one of his most personal projects that began in 1990 and after different ups and downs announced his separation in 2007, and his own solo career, with which he has edited three albums in studio and two live (one of them, at the Queen International Fan Club Convention, performing an entire concert of Queen songs, one of his great influences).

He collaborated in the movie “Rock Star” by putting the voice of the main actor emulating the fictional group Steel Dragon. His mastery of the vocal cords could be reflected in the song “Stand Up And Shout”.

In 2005 he recorded World Play, the first and only album of the Soul Sirkus project, along with Marco Mendoza, Virgil Donati and Neal Schon, guitarist of Journey, one of the favorite bands of Jeff Scott Soto and with whom he was touring during 2007 as Substitute of Steve Augeri, being fired in June from the band.

From the moment of his unexpected departure from Journey, Jeff focused on continuing his solo career, editing in 2008 a new recording under the name of Beautiful Mess, later perform choirs in the new album of the group North American Hard Rock Dokken.

In 2009, Jeff has been working together with Marcel Jacob on a new project called WET, sponsored by the Italian label Frontiers Records with members of two Swedish bands Work Of Art and Eclipse. Additionally, he is recording material that would be part of a new album with Talisman.

He would also tour during the winter season through the American territory with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011, having a more leading role during the summer tour of the album Beethoven’s Last Night in 2010.

Soto was also involved in the QUEEN EXTRAVAGANZA tour, The Queen Official Tribute band, produced by Roger Taylor for a good part of 2012, including the presentation on the TV show, American Idol.

Currently, Jeff Scott Soto is considered one of the best and most respected singers on the scene of Glam Metal, hard rock and heavy metal.
