Jean-Pierre Danel (La Varenne-Saint-Hilaire, June 4, 1968) is a French guitarist, composer and record producer. Known for his albums Guitar Connection, he has also recorded numerous duets with great names of the French and international guitar. Jean-Pierre Danel is the son of singer Pascal Danel.

Jean Pierre Danel’s Biography


Jean-Pierre Danel made his debut at age fourteen on tours and in various studio recordings. He also recorded several instrumental guitar albums and released his Stratospheric album in 2000.

In 2001, he appeared on the album Les Masters de la Guitare – Les plus grands guitaristes du monde in which Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, BB King, Al Di Meola, Popa Chubby, Stanley Jordan and dozens of others played famous guitarists.

In July 2006, he released Guitar Connection with Sony / BMG, a CD and DVD of which he was an interpreter and producer. The album had 18 songs and the DVD a guitar course. The album got to be a gold record, and in March 2007 he released Guitar Connection 2 with the song Nivram, recorded in a duet with Hank Marvin, the guitarist of The Shadows. There are also two other duos on the album: My Song of You, with Laurent Voulzy and While my Guitar Gently Weeps, with his father, Pascal Danel. The third volume came out in July 2008.

Participated in 2010 in the documentary about the Fender Stratocaster guitar produced by Arte and the Beaubourg museum.

At the end of November 2010, Out of the Blues came out, album for the benefit of the association AIDES and the fight against AIDS. It is an album of duets that Danel plays with 24 guests such as Louis Bertignac, Michael Jones, Axel Bauer, Laurent Voulzy, Hank Marvin, Albert Lee, Scott Henderson, Paul Personne, Nono de Trust, Andy Powell (Wishbone Ash), Beverly Jo Scott, Anne Ducros, etc. The album was recorded in six countries and especially in the Abbey Road Studios.

Jean-Pierre Danel has placed several singles in iTunes, especially the trio in the company of Louis Bertignac and Beverly Jo Scott 12th in downloads in France and # 1 in iTunes Blues in Belgium.


Jean-Pierre Danel is a collector of guitars and has among others some strange models of Fender Stratocaster like: Miss Daisy (1954), ainsi that Lady Rose (1954) and La Marquise (1956).


He has published a dozen books, such as Femme Mode d’Emploi or Légende de la Fender Stratocaster, based on his own collection. Also, in 2007, he released a biography entitled Le destin fabuleux by Sacha Guitry and another work Sacha Guitry et les femmes of 2012 as well as an intimate diary entitled Chroniques d’une vie passionnante.
