Jack Kelly (Astoria, New York, September 16, 1927-Huntington Beach, California, November 7, 1992) was an American film and television actor, who came to prominence primarily thanks to his role as Bart Maverick in the television series Maverick.

Beginnings

It came from an outstanding family of interpreters. His mother, Nan Kelly, had been a popular theatrical actress, and his sister, Nancy Kelly, was one of the leading film actresses of the 1930s, having worked with actors such as Tyrone Power, Henry Fonda and Spencer Tracy. Interestingly, she never worked with her brother.

Kings Row (1955)

Jack Kelly’s career began with the TV series Kings Row. Kelly acted in this series in 1955 with the role of the character played by Robert Cummings in the film of the same name, a series in which Robert Horton, actor of the future series Wagon Train, played the role that Ronald Reagan played in the film. This program was one of three that appeared under the title of Warner Bros. Presents, presented by Gig Young. The other two series were Casablanca and Cheyenne, starring Clint Walker.
