Grover Cleveland Short Bio

Stephen Grover Cleveland (Caldwell (New Jersey), March 18, 1837 – Princeton (New Jersey), June 24, 1908) was the twenty-second (1885-1889) and twentieth fourth (1893-1897) president of the United States and the only president of that country to have two non-consecutive terms. In addition to being the only democrat elected in an era of Republican preponderance in the government between 1860 and 1912, and the first democrat elected after the Civil War. His admirers praised his mandate for his honesty, independence of criteria and adherence to the principles of liberalism and free trade. In addition, he is considered the most popular president among all those who lived in the White House between Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt. However, he is criticized for the overload that apparently suffered his second term overwhelmed by a serious economic crisis and the loss of control of the Democratic Party against the agrarian branches of it.
