Gillian Flynn is an American journalist and writer born in Kansas (Missouri) in 1971. During her ten years in Entertainment Weekly magazine she visited filming of the highest grossing films around the world. She debuted as a writer in 2006 with “The open wounds.”

The story was started while she was pregnant with her son and she finished it just after sixteen months of age, using her studio, which she calls “her hell pit” because it is a semi underground floor. Perdida’s rights were acquired by the 20 Century Fox motion picture company to star Rosamund Pike and Ben Affleck (see Gone Girl) and have sold more than 2 million copies around the world.
