George Dennis Carlin (New York, May 12, 1937 – Santa Monica, June 22, 2008) was a stand-up Comedy comedian, actor and counterculture figure, known about all for his monologue Seven Words that can not be said on television, recorded on his 1972 album Class Clown.
He was nominated for second place on the Comedy Central cable network list among the 10 most important stand-up comedians, ahead of Lenny Bruce and behind Richard Pryor. He was invited several times to The Tonight Show during the Johnny Carson era and was also the first person to host the popular American TV show Saturday Night Live.
After recording twenty-five albums, fourteen HBO specials, publishing five books, participating in several films and starring in his own television series, Carlin died on June 22, 2008 due to a myocardial infarction. < / p>
