Fyodor Sergeevich Bondarchuk (Russian: Фёдор Сергеевич Бондарчук) (May 9, 1967 in Moscow) is a Russian filmmaker, actor and producer known for directing The Ninth Company of 2005, which was the highest grossing film of the Russian billboard of 2005 and awarded with seven awards. He also appears credited as a producer of Zhara, in which he appeared with his mother (also actress): Irina Skóbtseva

In 2003 he received the TEFI Award for Best Television Presenter and in 2012 the Golden Eagle for Best Actor.

On October 15, 2012, she joined the Filmmakers Council of Lenfilm.

Early life

Bondarchuk is the son of actress Irina Skóbtseva and Sergei Bondarchuk. In 1985 he went on to study at the Panrusa Guerásimov University of Cinematography and in 1991 he graduated as a professor from Yuri Ózerov. His debut as an actor began in 1986 with the film Boris Godunov, directed and starring his father.

Cinematographic career

In 1990 he began his career as a music producer. Three years later he received the Ovatsia award in the Best Music Video Producer category. In 2001 he participated in the movie Down House, spoof movie based on the novel by Fyodor Dostoevsky: The idiot in the role of Prince Myshkin. The following year he would begin his career as a film producer with the film V dvizheniy. From there it would produce a dozen films, which ended up being a blockbuster. In 2005 she made her directorial debut in The Ninth Company (based on the Afghanistan War from 1979 to 1989), filming took place in the Crimea and won seven of the eight nominees. She was also nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film of the Oscars, but was not nominated.

In 2008 he directed The inhabited island after receiving the approval of Boris Strugatskiy for the adaptation of the homonymous novel. In 2012 he received the Golden Eagle for Best Actor for the film Dva dnya by Dunya Smirnova. The same year announced with producer Aleksandr Rodnyanskiy his cooperation with the audiovisual company IMAX Corporation, Greg Foster stated that “Fiódor and Aleksandr showed me a fragment of fifteen minutes of the film Stalingrad andwas delighted to have made the right choice by trusting them as companions, the film was released in 2013 and was the first non-American production shot in IMAX format.

In 2012 he produced the film adaptation of Sergei Mináev’s novel: Soulless.

In 2008, together with Konstantin Ernst and Ilyá Bachurin, he founded the company Glavkinó, one of the most important producers in Russia.
