Fabrice “Fab” Morvan (May 14, 1966 in Paris) is a dancer and model of African origin. Previously it was half of the duo Milli Vanilli, who led with Rob Pilatus and sold several platinum records worldwide. However, he was later involved in one of the biggest scandals in the history of pop music, when it was revealed that Milli Vanilli had not sung any of his songs.

Fab Morvan’s Biography

The first years

At the age of 19, he moved to Germany, where he worked as a break dancer, model and would be influenced by funk, soul, rap and pop music sounds. It was at that time he met Pilatus at a club in Munich. However producer Frank Farian, is the mastermind behind what was Milli Vanilli, gathered great talent to form the controversial group, however they lacked a salable image, so he turned to Fabrice and Pilatus who would be the visible face. /p>

Milli Vanilli

At first they were told that they would be the dancers, however the original singers lacked charisma that could captivate the audience, so Frank Farian asks Rob and Fabrice, to synchronize their lips to the rhythm of the music, the rest is already known, everything was very fast and they barely managed to realize how quickly everything happened.

The big lie

Everything is uncovered months after receiving the Grammy to the best musical group, this when the group was in tour, the disc that contained the music suffers a flaw, and the chorus “” Girl you now its True “” is repeated over and over again, which evidenced what some already assumed, that Rob and Fabrice were just excellent dancers, but to sing, nothing.

End of Milli Vanilli and death of Rob

After the well-known scandal, the company Sony BMG in charge of the distribution, withdraws all the discs from the market, the same happens with the Grammy, achieved in 1989. With this occur two important facts, Rob and Fabrice, try to almost desperate to release a disc with their own voices, showing offness, especially Rob, and obviously, a few light years of voices heard on the discs, which did not please the audience, which barely bought 2000 discs. After this appears “” The Real Milli Vanilli “” who were the real musicians behind Rob and Fabrice, who also released an album, which had medium acceptance, without major awards or recognitions.

After this Fabrice decides to leave the music, and dedicate himself to modeling, while Rob insists again and again in returning to music, without success, this eventually leads to collapse, which ends with his death in the year 1998 due to overdose of pills and alcohol.

Fabrice reinvents himself

Fabrice takes up the music again, taking singing lessons, and this effort is fruitful, appearing in several stars, singing the great hits of Milli Vanilli acapella, with her own voice, achieving an acceptable tuning and managing to re-enchant the audience. With this finally succeeding in demystifying the fact that he was not singing, and that everything was dubbing.
