Ève Denise Julie Curie-Labouisse (Paris, France, December 6, 1904 – New York, United States, October 22, 2007) was a French writer. She was the second daughter of Marie and Pierre Curie and wrote an acclaimed biography of her mother, Marie Curie, in 1937. Her life was intimately linked to the Nobel Prizes: both her parents and her sister, Irène Curie, were awarded the Nobel Prize. in science, and her husband, Henry Richardson Labouisse, Jr. received a Nobel Peace Prize awarded to UNICEF, organization of which he was its director.

He was an honorary doctor by Mills College (California), Russell Sage College and the University of Rochester.

Ève Curie was born on December 6, 1904 in Paris, France. She was the daughter of Pierre Curie and Marie Skłodowska-Curie, and younger sister of Irène Curie. He grew up in the house that his parents had in Sceaux.

After the death of his father in 1906 and the marriage of his sister Irène with the scientist Frédéric Joliot, he moved to Paris with his mother. He studied sciences and philosophy at the Collège Sévigné, graduating in 1925. He was a concert pianist, and made his first concert in Paris in 1925. He played in France and Belgium until the outbreak of World War II.

After the death of her mother in 1934, she wrote her biography, entitled Madame Curie, which became the world’s best seller in 1938.

In 1939 he becomes “gentleman” of the Legion of Honor and of the Order Polonia Restituta.

In 1940, fall France, settled in the United Kingdom, where he joined the Free France working for the Allies until the end of the war. Write Journey among warriors, chronicle of his travels on the fronts of the Second World War.

In 1944, together with Philippe Barrès, he founded the newspaper Paris-Presse, which he co-directed until 1949.

Ève Curie was the administrator of the “Curie Foundation” from 1957 to 1967, as the representative of Marie Curie, creator of the foundation.

Already centenary, on July 13, 2005, he rises to the rank of “Officer” of the Legion of Honor for his contributions to the humanitarian cause, a decoration that was given to him during a ceremony at the UNICEF premises. He died on October 22, 2007.
