Eva Gabor (Budapest, Austro-Hungarian Empire, February 11, 1919 – Los Angeles, July 4, 1995), was a Hungarian actress based in the United States. She was known for her role in the comedy television series Green Acres (1965-1971) as “Lisa Douglas”. It was also the voice in English of “Duchess” in the animated film of Walt Disney The Aristocats and “Miss Bianca” in the movies Bernardo and Bianca and Bernardo and Bianca in Kangaroo, also of the Disney factory. Gabor also achieved some success in Hollywood, Broadway and television. She was also an outstanding businesswoman, owner of several brands that distributed beauty, clothing and makeup products. She was the younger sister of the also actresses and socialites, Zsa Zsa and Magda Gabor.
First years and career
He was born in Budapest, Hungary, in the last stage of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the daughter of Hungarian parents. Eva Gabor was the youngest of the three daughters of Vilmor Gabor (1884-1962), a soldier and his wife Jolie (1896-1997), a jeweler. She was the first of the sisters to immigrate to the United States, with her first husband, an Swedish osteopath, Dr. Eric V. Drimmer, in 1939, shortly after they married in London. Her first film role was in the United States as an actress at Paramount Pictures.
During the 1950s, he appeared in several “A” rating films, including The Last Time I Saw Paris, starring Elizabeth Taylor and artists and models, which featured Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis. In 1953, he was given his own television show, The Eva Gabor Show, which aired for a season (1953-1954). Throughout the rest of the 1950s and early 1960s, he appeared in film and television. It appeared in an episode of Justice’s mystery series, and was in the game show What’s My Line? as the “mystery challenger”. His film appearances during this era included a new version of My Man Godfrey, Gigi, and He Started with a Kiss.
