Working with Kiss

One of his most important challenges as a drummer was the legacy he is allowed to continue in Kiss, legendary band of North America founded in 1972, which had had two extraordinary drummers, Peter Criss, who for 1980 should leave the band to Start a solo career. The immediate replacement is Eric Carr (Paul Charles Caravello), son of Italian immigrants born on July 12, 1950 in New York. Eric Carr is considered by many of Kiss’s fans to be the most charismatic drummer of all time in the band, (due to his make-up similar to the spots of a fox); manages to gain the attention of the fans and replace the image “The Catman” by Peter Criss. For his part, Eric Singer is considered to be the most technical and skilful drummer of the band; achieving greater cleanliness in the songs and, above all, in the early nineties; a more “heavy” touch to the music of the band.

In the tour of the album Hot In The Shade, Eric Carr begins to suffer from Pericarditis, and unfortunately he dies on November 24, 1991, curiously the same day as Freddie Mercury. A year later Kiss reappears with Eric Singer, who broke the band’s scheme by his features, yellow hair, blue eyes a marked difference with Peter, Eric and the rest of the band, which were characterized by hair and eyes dark colors.

Starts in Kiss in a time of rebirth of metal and new related styles, at this time Eric Singer completes the band already made up of Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons and Bruce Kulick. The album Revenge was released in 1992, Kiss is part of this revival and a new drummer who impressed in his style.

This new line-up of Kiss allows him to renew his style and captivate in concert, ending this era of rebirth of Metal, Kiss decides to meet with his former members, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss, this has its origins in a convention of Kiss in 1996 with acoustic guitars, where Peter Criss contacts Gene Simmons and says he will attend. Eric Singer proposes to present Peter Criss to the public and make him participate in the concert.

For the end of 1996 they present MTV Unplugged, one of the most impressive moments for all the fans of Kiss around the world, where Eric Singer and Peter Criss were present playing the drums on the same stage during the last 2 songs (“Nothin ‘To Lose “and” Rock And Roll All Night “).

This ends with the meeting of Kiss, with its original 4 members, Paul Stanley (voice and guitar), Gene Simmons (bass and voice), Ace Frehley (guitar and voice) and Peter Criss (drums and voice) which leaves Bruce kulick and Eric Singer out of the band and with a last CD released by Kiss called Carnival Of Souls, which did not perform any tour because it was a record released due to a contract that the band had with the label “Mercury”.

In the original version of this album, you can see Eric Singer, playing drums and singing in Do you remember Rock & amp; Roll Radio ?, a cover of The Ramones.

After the departure of Peter Criss again, in March 2004, Eric Singer is invited to return to Kiss again and this definitive substitution is obviously embodying the character of the Cat left by Peter Criss on his way out until the present time he continues to be the incarnation of the The aforementioned character, many assure that Peter Criss will not return, little is known, but it is sure that he is no longer part of Kiss.
