Dorothy Mae Kilgallen (Chicago, July 3, 1913-New York, November 8, 1965) was a journalist and American television collaborator. She became widely known within her country for her coverage of Sam Sheppard’s trial, her newspaper column, The Voice of Broadway and her participation in the television show What’s My Line? (What is my profession?).
She was the daughter of the well-known journalist James Kilgallen and of Mae Kilgallen, a housewife. He had a sister, Eleanor Kilgallen, with residence in New York and a hearing and contracting agent within Universal Studios who played an important role in the promotion of the artistic careers of James Dean, Kim Cattrall and other actors.
