LaDonna Adrian Gaines , known as Donna Summer (Boston, Massachusetts, December 31, 1948 – Naples, Florida, May 17, 2012) was a singer, American composer, pianist and actress, world famous for her disco and pop genres during the seventies and early eighties.
He won five Grammy awards. She was the first artist to have three consecutive albums to reach number # 1 in the United States on the Billboard Hot 100. Throughout her career she sold more than 150 million copies worldwide, making her one of the greatest selling musicians of all time.
His best-known songs throughout his career are “Last Dance”, “Hot Stuff”, “On the Radio”, “She Works Hard for the Money”, “Love to Love You Baby”, “I Feel Love »,« Bad Girls »and« No More Tears (Enough is Enough) », a duo that she recorded with Barbra Streisand.
Summer became involved in the world of music through the choir groups of her church before joining a series of bands influenced by Motown Sound. Influenced by the counterculture of the 1960s, she became the lead singer of the psychedelic rock band Crow and moved to New York City. He married Helmut Sommer, whose surname derived the stage name Donna Summer . He was diagnosed with lung cancer, for which he died on May 17, 2012, at his home in Naples, Florida.
In 2013 he was inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame. She is considered the queen of disco music.
