Donald Frye (born November 23, 1965) is a retired American actor and fighter of mixed martial arts and professional wrestling. Frye is famous for winning the UFC 8 and the Ultimate Ultimate 1996.
Don Frye’s Biography
Don Frye began to fight at the Escuela de Secundaria Buena in Sierra Vista, Arizona, later at Arizona State University in 1984, where he was trained by his future compatriot in Ultimate Fighting Championship and legend, then wrestling assistant , Dan Severn. In 1987, he won Olympic wrestling events and Greco-Roman wrestling during an Olympic eliminator. A year later, he moved to the Stillwater University of Oklahoma State, where he met another future UFC star among his teammates: Randy Couture.
After college, Frye trained boxing for a year and a half and made his professional debut on August 28, 1989 in Phoenix, Arizona, scoring a first-round knockout over Luis Mora. This would be his first and only boxing fight, when he retired and went on to work as a firefighter and emergency medical technician. During this time, Frye also trained judo and earned the rank of second dan black belt.
