In 1953 his family moved to Southern California where his parents found work in the aeronautical industry. Some years later Dick started sending letters to the studios to try to get a job as a double. But he was too young for that, for that reason no studio hired him. After that he built a wrestling ring in his backyard at home and persuaded his younger sister, Lolly, for his opponent and help him develop his skills as a professional wrestler. While practicing with his Roller-Skate at a local track in Gardena, California became interested in skating, so he joined a club in which the champion Ralph Valledares teaches.
Dick Warlock left professional skating because money was scarce to support his family. He joined American Airlines, to earn more money. On a weekend Dick and an acquaintance went to a place called Movie Ranch where Dick showed his acting skills, achieving his first job as an actor. Among his first roles include those made for Disney in Blackbeards Ghost and Love Bug.
John Carpenter and Debra Hill would ultimately be the ones who brought him the best moment of his career by playing Michael Myers in “Halloween II.” The result of that work (New York Escape) was that Debra Hill called Rick Rosenthal, director of Halloween II to recommend Dick Warlock to play Michael Myers. Dick’s last movie in Hollywood was in “Spiderman”.
It was Kurt Russell’s double for 25 years.
He has two children, Billy Warlock and Lance Warlock, and a daughter Rhonda Warlock.
