Originally from Mexico City, actor David Villalpando began his artistic career at the age of 14, debuting at amateur level in the theater play El Extraño Rider at the Casa del Lago of the UNAM. After participating in numerous works of all kinds, in 1980 he starred in The Extension, reaching over three years, more than one thousand five hundred performances.

This work marks the beginning at professional level of a long career on stage that includes more than thirty theatrical works that cover all genres and styles; from drama to comedy and from popular theater to classical. Among the works he has starred are The Two Brothers, El patissier del rey, Alegría, the lottery, The Circus of Bubbles and The pawns of a house for whose performance he earned a special prize from the Association of Theatrical Journalists, APT, in 1989. Throughout his theatrical career he has had the opportunity to represent Mexico performing at various events abroad such as the International Theater Festival of Sitges, Spain (1980), the Latin Festival of New York (1982) , the VI Ibero-American Festival of Theater of Cádiz (1992) in Spain and the Universal Exhibition of Seville (1992).

Nineteen years ago, Villalpando exploited a new facet as a television writer.
