The destroyer USS Daly (DD-519) was named after him.
On November 10, 2005, the United States Postal Service honored Daly and three other Marine Corps heroes in their series of “Marines Distinguished” stamps. In addition to Daly these stamps also honored John Basilone, John A. Lejeune and Lewis B. “Chesty” Puller.

Daly died on April 27, 1937 and was buried in New York in the Cypress Hills National Cemetery, in grave number 70 of section 5.
