There, along with his partner Alex Reid, he founded the San Francisco Comedy Condo in 1986.
Gould has written episodes and has performed on The Ben Stiller Show; in one of the shorts he appeared as Otto, the twisted brother of Cupid, whose arrows convince a young man to fall madly in love with an older woman. In another series of shorts, Dana played Wilford Brimley, an advertiser of “Grady Oatmeal Flakes” (a parody of the Quaker flakes). In one of the shorts, she talks about her taste for dressing up in a taffeta dress and filling her pantyhose with oats; in another, he wields a weapon through a window towards some children.
Later, Dana appeared in an episode of MADtv as Newt Gingrich.

Gould provided the voice for the main character in the American version of the video game Gex, and also in the first version of the British edition. Along with his partner Robert Cohen, he wrote most of the gags of the games.
For six years, Gould worked as a screenwriter and voice actor on the cartoon series The Simpsons, playing Don Knotts as Barney Fife (an imitation whose origins can be found in his routines as a comedian). He left the series in 2006 to work as an independent screenwriter.
His short films, Last Man On Earth, Break On Through With J.F.K., A Night On Java Island, and Soul Mates can also be downloaded from his website.
