Conan Stevens is an Australian actor and writer, who practiced professional wrestling. It measures 2.16 meters tall. One of his most famous roles is that of the goblin Bolgo in the movie The Hobbit: An Unexpected Trip (2012). He also plays Gregor Clegane, “the mountain that rides”, in the first season of the television series Game of Thrones, being replaced by the actor Ian Whyte in the second season.

Conan Stevens’s Biography

Stevens was born and raised in the Australian city of Newcastle. His first experience with acting took place at the age of six in a school function. Apparently, his years in school were difficult because of the harassment he was subjected to, which led him, years later, to begin in the world of bodybuilding. At sixteen, after seeing Arnold Schwarzenegger in theaters in Conan, the destroyer, Stevens made the determination to become an action movie star. After finishing school he entered the university of his city, which he left to enter the reserve of the Australian Army.

Thanks to his physique, he worked as a nightclub doorman. In those years he got his first job as an actor after meeting the comedian Super Hubert, who offered him a role in a television show. In 2000, when he had committed to the American television network TNT for a small tour of wrestling matches in Australia, he suffered an accident that damaged a nerve in his back, which ended his aspirations to reach the American circuit. so he decides to abandon the professional fight and his dreams as an actor.

For the next four years, she had no representative or castings, until she opened a computer store and received a call from a representative agency to offer her an audition for a horror and science fiction film Man-Thing. The following year, in 2005, he was offered a new job in a production in Thailand. Stevens closed his computer store and moved to the Asian country where he becomes a popular actor of action movies, premiering with great success the action comedy Bangkok Adrenaline.

In 2010 he got the role of Gregor Clegane, “the mountain that rides”, in the first season of the television series Game of thrones, adaptation of the first novel of the literary series Song of ice and fire written by George RR Martin.
