Claudio Miguel Pizarro Bosio (Bellavista, Callao, October 3, 1978), is a Peruvian soccer player who plays as forward and his current team is the F. C. Bundesliga Cologne.
He debuted at the age of 17 in 1996 with the Deportivo Pesquero club. In 1998 he joined the ranks of Alianza Lima and in 1999 he was signed by Werder Bremen of the Bundesliga. In 2001 he signed for Bayern Munich, staying on this team until 2007, when at the express request of José Mourinho he signed for England’s Chelsea. In 2009 he returned to Bremen and was hired again by Bayern Munich in 2012, with which he won a Champions League and a Club World Cup. In mid-2015, and close to retirement, Pizarro returned to Bremen. After finishing his contract with Bremen, Pizarro was hired by the F.C. Cologne.
He is the top foreign scorer in the history of the Bundesliga with 191 goals in the top five of this list, the seventh historic of Bayern Munich and the top scorer in the history of Werder Bremen. At the level of international competitions, it is the 3rd highest Latin American scorer in the European Cups (Champions League, UEFA Cup and UEFA Europa League) by scoring 48 goals, placing only behind Lionel Messi and Alfredo Di Stéfano. He is also the seventh historic scorer of the UEFA European League with 24 goals. With the Peruvian team, he is the 5th historic scorer with 20 goals and the eighth with the most matches (85).
He is the older brother of Diego Pizarro, a footballer who plays in the Cantolao Academy of the First Division of Peru.
