Charles Stanley Dutton (January 30, 1951; Baltimore, Maryland, United States) is an American actor and director of film, television and theater. Winner of three Emmy Awards in the category of best guest actor in a drama series and best miniseries or telefilm director, candidate for the Golden Globes and the Awards of the Actors Guild, known for his appearances in films such as Alien 3 (1992 ), A Time to Kill (1997), Random Hearts (1999), Gothika (2004), Secret Window (2004) and Legion (2010).
Charles S. Dutton was born on January 30, 1951 in Baltimore, Maryland, United States, his father was a truck driver. He went to Towson University in Baltimore to study drama; and to Yale University. He debuted on Broadway in 1985 with August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, an ex-convict who served three years for gun possession and seven and a half years for assaulting an officer. During his service he read a work that pushed him to become an actor and he was part of a theater group, to be part of the theater group he had to enter the school; When his sentence ended he had a two-year university degree. He married Debbi Morgan in 1989, but they divorced in 1994. Currently the actor lives on a farm in the town of Howard County, in the state of Maryland.
